Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS)
- Experience working in K–12 educational settings preferred
- Knowledge of assessment tools and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Current credentialing and eligibility to work in California
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility assessments
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans focused on safe, independent travel skills
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support student goals
- Provide direct instruction in a variety of school and community environments
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and document student progress
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments
