Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Norristown, PA

You’ll work on a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (8:00 AM to 3:15 PM), with 32.5 hours per week.

This position is open for an immediate start or for the upcoming August 2026 school year, providing flexibility to fit your availability. As a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist, your expertise will play a vital role in helping students who are visually impaired build essential skills for daily life and academic achievement.

Qualifications:

• Valid Certificate of Orientation and Mobility in the state of Pennsylvania
• Prior experience working in school settings is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

• Excellent communication and assessment abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students to determine their orientation and mobility needs
• Develop and implement individualized instruction plans
• Teach safe travel skills, including cane techniques and navigation strategies

• Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with school standards
