Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) | North Dighton, Massachusetts

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) or Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments or other special needs
• Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs), assessment techniques, and assistive technology
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine orientation and mobility needs
• Develop and implement individualized instruction plans

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care
