This is a contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year, ideal for travel professionals seeking an engaging, impactful school-based role—exclusively onsite.
You'll work alongside a dedicated team to deliver mainly direct compensatory services, with occasional evaluation duties as needed. With a manageable caseload of 12 students, your support will help enhance independence, safety, and confidence for students with visual impairments.
Key Qualifications:
- National O&M (Orientation and Mobility) licensure
- Vision certification required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to provide necessary documentation for credentialing (such as professional license, Social Security card, demographic info, I-9, and fingerprinting forms)
- Experience with K–8 school populations strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group orientation and mobility instruction
- Develop, carry out, and revise student goals based on ongoing assessments
- Travel between two or three local schools within the Lake Howell zone, including Heathrow Middle and Markham Woods Middle, plus one additional nearby campus
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Serve as a resource to school staff and families regarding orientation and mobility strategies
