O&M Specialist - Palm Bay, Florida

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Demonstrated experience delivering O&M instruction to students in a school environment
• Competency in adapting O&M strategies for individualized student needs
• Strong communication and consultation skills for effective coordination with teachers and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 30-minute weekly sessions of direct O&M instruction to one student for the upcoming school year (NSY)
• Assess and address the student’s individual mobility goals, ensuring ongoing progress and safety
• Work alongside the student’s current Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to maintain consistency in strategies and support
• Maintain concise documentation of instructional activities, student performance, and progress
• Collaborate with educational staff to provide guidance on environmental modifications and promote accessibility within the school setting
