In this position, you’ll work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, providing assessment and direct instructional services to students with visual impairments. Your expertise helps students acquire essential skills for independent travel and confident participation in both academic and community settings. Compensation will be thoughtfully determined in the range of $45 to $60 per hour based on your years of experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Pennsylvania Certificate in Orientation & Mobility
  • ComS or eligible to be certified as a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist
  • Prior experience working within a school or educational setting is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Compassion, patience, and adaptability for supporting diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ orientation and mobility skills in a variety of school and community environments
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction plans
  • Instruct students in safe, independent travel techniques including the use of mobility aids
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
