Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) | Phoenixville, Pennsylvania

Bring your expertise as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist to a dynamic educational setting, supporting students across multiple campuses in Chester County. In this rewarding contract role, you’ll collaborate with faculty and staff to foster independence and confidence in students from preschool through high school.

This full-time position covers a maternity leave from February 2027 to June 2027, providing an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact within a diverse learning community. You’ll work with approximately 25 students, each with individual needs and goals, and play an essential role in enhancing their navigation and orientation skills.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Orientation & Mobility Specialist licensure
• Experience working with PK-12 students
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to travel between multiple campuses during the school week
• Collaborative approach to working alongside teachers, support staff, and families

Your Responsibilities:

• Assessing the orientation and mobility needs of students across all grade levels
• Developing individualized instruction plans to enhance independent movement
• Implementing effective, engaging lessons and tracking student progress
• Providing ongoing support and consultation to educational staff and families
• Managing schedules to serve students at various campuses
• Maintaining documentation in accordance with educational standards and compliance guidelines
