A part-time role is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist serving K-12 students. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct services to one student, dedicating approximately 90 minutes per month. The role is based in Pueblo, CO, within a school setting, and is structured as a contract position for the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individualized orientation and mobility instruction for a student with visual impairments
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance safe and independent travel skills
- Collaborate with educational staff to support student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and adaptability in various environments
Qualifications:
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) credential required
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and instructional skills tailored to student needs
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
