Key Qualifications:

• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) with current certification through ACVREP
• Valid GaPSC teaching credential required
• Previous experience working with visually impaired students within a school environment preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, student-centered approach
• Ability to work comfortably onsite across multiple school locations

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to visually impaired students on orientation and mobility techniques, tailoring lessons to IEP goals and student needs
• Empower students to safely and confidently navigate school environments and community settings
• Assess skills and develop individualized student plans; monitor progress and update goals as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, IEP teams, and guardians to optimize student pathways for growth
• Independently set your weekly schedule, balancing O&M needs and student academic activities
