Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Richmond Hill, GA

Make a meaningful difference in students' lives as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist working with visually impaired students from 2nd grade through high school. This contract position spans the academic year, starting late July through May, and will have you supporting learners across multiple school sites in the Richmond Hill and Savannah area.

Key Qualifications:

• Current COMS certification through ACVREP
• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching Certificate
• Previous experience serving students with visual impairments (VI) strongly preferred
• Ability to work across different school sites and age ranges
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students based on individualized educational plans
• Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to students’ goals and abilities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure consistent support
• Develop your own flexible schedule that best accommodates the needs of students and essential O&M services
• Complete required assessments, progress reports, and maintain meticulous documentation
• Travel onsite to various schools within the district (Note: This position requires onsite work only)
