Position Details

• Location: San Antonio, TX
• Assignment Type: Travel Contract
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Contract Length: Full 2026–2027 School Year
• Caseload: Infants through Elementary School students
  • (A separate O&M Specialist serves grades 6–12.)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct Orientation & Mobility instruction to students
• Deliver indirect services, including:
  • Staff and teacher consultation
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Instructional material preparation and adaptation
• Conduct evaluations, including:
  • Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE)
  • Learning Media Assessments (LMA)
  • Orientation & Mobility Assessments
• Attend ARD meetings and collaborate with families and school staff
• Travel between district campuses as needed (travel time may be billable based on district guidelines)

Qualifications

• Active Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential
• Previous school-based experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel between school sites within the district
