Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite contract opportunity near Sanford, FL runs from August 10, 2026, through May 25, 2027, serving K–12 students across a dynamic district. Primarily, you’ll provide direct compensatory services with the possibility of conducting evaluations as needed. Travel professionals are welcome, and the district values the expertise you bring to enhancing students’ independence and confidence.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Current National O&M Licensure
  • Vision certification
  • Experience working with children across K–12 settings
  • A valid driver’s license and social security card
  • Physical copy of your professional license
  • Capability to complete time-sensitive onboarding requirements, including fingerprinting and credential forms
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Passion for helping students access their educational environment safely and independently

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering direct orientation and mobility therapy services to a diverse caseload
  • Conducting assessments as needed, focused on compensatory needs
  • Collaborating with educators and families to create effective, student-centered plans
  • Maintaining accurate, timely records and progress reports
  • Traveling between assigned school sites as required
  • Acting as a resource for staff, ensuring best practices in mobility and orientation instruction
  • Flexibly adapting to changing needs and schedules within the district
