Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Key Qualifications:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Experience working in school or educational settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to individual student needs
• Commitment to promoting independence and confidence in students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to develop individualized mobility plans
• Assess students’ mobility skills and progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
• Offer consultation and training to staff and families about supporting student mobility
• Participate in IEP meetings, contributing insights for student development and accommodations
• Adapt instructional strategies based on student progress and feedback
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment throughout the contract period (August 3, 2026, to May 20, 2027)
