Key Qualifications:
- Licensed or certified as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS).
- Experience providing services to school-aged children or adolescents preferred.
- Skilled in creating tailored mobility and orientation instruction plans.

- Familiarity with assistive technology and low vision aids.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to fostering student growth and confidence.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ orientation and mobility needs in various settings, including classrooms, school grounds, and community locations.
- Develop and implement individualized mobility instruction programs.
- Teach students techniques for safe travel, including proper cane use, spatial orientation, and route planning.
- Collaborate with teachers, educational aides, and other related service providers to integrate mobility training into students’ educational goals.
- Offer training and resources to staff and families to support ongoing student development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of student progress and contribute to IEP or 504 plan meetings.
