Step into a valued role as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist working with students in a school setting. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 10, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2027. You will provide critical support to students, helping them build independence and confidence in navigating school environments. The assignment is located on-site, with school locations and caseload details to be confirmed soon. The district anticipates that interviews will be scheduled next week, pending budget approval expected on June 8th or 9th. There is a high likelihood (90%) that you’ll be contacted for an interview if you apply quickly.

Qualifications:

  • National Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
  • Vision Certification
  • Preferred: Previous experience in school-based settings
  • Ability to complete district-specific onboarding and credentialing processes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to students of varying ages and backgrounds
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Travel to assigned schools as needed (assignments TBD)
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including timesheet reporting
  • Participate in onboarding, data collection, and ongoing compliance with district procedures
