Key Qualifications:

• Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license required
• Experience or strong interest in providing orientation and mobility services within school settings
• Must be comfortable and able to travel between various district sites throughout Greene and Washington Counties
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse K-12 caseload
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments in public school settings
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, and families to develop individualized support plans
• Assess student abilities and customize training in independent travel and safe navigation within different environments
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and provide regular updates to staff and families
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute expertise for IEP development and implementation
• Foster skills in self-advocacy, orientation strategies, and the use of assistive technology
