Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
• Provide indirect services including consultation with teachers, staff, and families
• Prepare specialized materials and resources tailored to each student’s needs
• Conduct thorough evaluations, including Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and O&M assessments
• Participate in ARD meetings, collaborating on goals and strategies to ensure student success
• Offer ongoing professional insights to foster a supportive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Qualifications:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
• Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) highly preferred
• Proven ability to conduct O&M, FVE, and LMA assessments
• Strong communication skills for both direct services and professional consultation
• Dedication to continuous improvement and student-centered instruction
