Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
- Provide indirect services including consultation with teachers, staff, and families
- Prepare specialized materials and resources tailored to each student’s needs
- Conduct thorough evaluations, including Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and O&M assessments
- Participate in ARD meetings, collaborating on goals and strategies to ensure student success
- Offer ongoing professional insights to foster a supportive, inclusive learning atmosphere
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
- Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) highly preferred
- Proven ability to conduct O&M, FVE, and LMA assessments
- Strong communication skills for both direct services and professional consultation
- Dedication to continuous improvement and student-centered instruction
