This contract opportunity is for a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist to support students in a welcoming academic setting, close to West Chester, PA. Whether you're available to start immediately or seeking a position for the upcoming academic year (August 2026), your expertise will be valued and put to great use.

As a vital support figure, you’ll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., totaling 32.5 hours per week. This consistent Monday–Friday schedule allows for predictable planning and valuable engagement with students, faculty, and families.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Certified as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Pennsylvania
  • Deep knowledge of instructional techniques for students with visual impairments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Prior experience with Orientation and Mobility programs in an educational setting preferred

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students’ mobility needs and develop customized O&M training plans
  • Provide direct instruction in safe, efficient travel techniques on campus and in the community
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate O&M strategies into IEPs
  • Keep thorough records of student progress and regularly update staff and families
  • Advocate for accommodations and resources to ensure student safety and independence
