Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students across multiple school campuses in Chester County. This full-time contract position spans February through June 2027, covering a maternity leave and making a meaningful impact on the educational journeys of around 25 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) licensure
  • Experience working with school-aged students, ideally PK-12
  • Ability to provide services across multiple sites efficiently and flexibly
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
  • Knowledge of best practices and assessment techniques in Orientation and Mobility instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative orientation and mobility services to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction plans tailored to students’ unique needs and abilities
  • Conduct assessments to determine current mobility levels and intervention requirements
  • Collaborate with educators, administration, and families to support student independence on campus and in the community
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of services provided and student progress
  • Provide input in IEP meetings, contributing to students’ educational goals
  • Travel between campuses within Chester County as needed
