Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in New York
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- School-based OT experience preferred, but strong clinical backgrounds considered
- Familiarity with IEPs, documentation standards, and collaborative educational teams
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and grade levels
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students in educational settings
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized interventions that promote student participation and development
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to address student needs and set attainable goals
- Contribute to and attend IEP meetings, offering expert recommendations and progress updates
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Employ creative, engaging therapeutic activities that help students access the curriculum and maximize independence
