Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans
- Knowledge of IEP processes and familiarity with documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine students’ occupational therapy needs
- Develop individualized intervention plans in collaboration with the educational team
- Deliver therapy sessions tailored to student abilities, focusing on improving functional skills necessary for school success
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes
- Maintain organized records in accordance with district and legal requirements
- Provide recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive equipment as needed
- Communicate progress and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert input on students’ occupational performance
