Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous school-based experience or passion for working with pediatric populations
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with school teams, families, and caregivers
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy plans
- Adaptability and organization in a dynamic educational setting
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine student needs
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and intervention plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in accordance with each student’s goals
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams on strategies and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on students’ functional abilities
- Stay current on best practices and relevant regulations in school-based therapy
