Occupational Therapist School Setting in Algonquin, IL

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting middle school students (grades 6-8) for the academic term starting ASAP through May 27, 2027. This engaging role offers a consistent schedule of 36.25 hours per week, with workdays from 7:15 AM to 3:00 PM (including a 30-minute lunch break), giving you meaningful structure in your workweek.

You’ll work alongside educators and related professionals across different settings, including one off-campus location and within district programs, supporting both general education (co-taught) and self-contained classrooms. This role is ideal for licensed occupational therapists enthusiastic about fostering independence and success in students as they develop essential skills.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (master’s or doctorate level)
• Successful completion of required fieldwork/clinical training
• Passing score on the NBCOT national certification exam, with proper exam verification for Illinois
• Active Illinois OT state license, maintained through ongoing continuing education
• Experience working in school settings is a strong plus
• Familiarity with IEP development and participation preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to 6th–8th grade students in a variety of educational environments
• Collaborate closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams within general education and self-contained settings
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and contribute to the IEP process
• Support student participation in classroom activities and daily school routines
