Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a district-wide Occupational Therapist serving approximately 30 students. This is a contract opportunity located near Amherst, MA, offering flexible scheduling with full-time hours at 32.5 per week or the option of a 4-day workweek totaling 24 hours. Your expertise will support students’ growth, independence, and participation in school activities through targeted therapies and interventions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Background in implementing therapy for diverse student needs, including IEP/504 planning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently across multiple schools or sites within a district
- Commitment to empowering students and supporting their educational goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ functional abilities, motor skills, and sensory processing as related to educational performance
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans aligned with educational objectives
- Offer direct and consultative therapy to students, both individually and in group settings
- Collaborate with educators and families to integrate intervention strategies within classroom routines
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert input and progress reports
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation according to district and regulatory guidelines
