Step into a dynamic school-based setting as a full-time Occupational Therapist, making an immediate impact with K-12 students this school year. This on-site contract position is located near Anaheim, CA, with your primary assignment in Compton, CA. You'll deliver dedicated OT services to students across various grade levels, empowering their independence and academic success. The role starts as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year, with the potential for summer work and contract renewal.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current California Occupational Therapy license (OTR/L) required
- Experience within K-12 school populations preferred
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside educators, families, and related service providers
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ therapy needs
- Develop and deliver individualized and group OT interventions focused on academic, behavioral, and daily living skills
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and student progress monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and district protocols
- Adapt and implement sensory, fine motor, and adaptive strategies to facilitate student learning and inclusion
- Collaborate directly with teachers and families to promote generalization of OT strategies
