This contract opportunity focuses on a self-contained special education (SPED) program, serving students aged 3-22. In this role, you will work with a manageable caseload of 18-25 students, providing innovative, evidence-based OT services in-person. Your expertise will help equip students with the skills they need to navigate academic and everyday activities, while collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois (or eligibility for licensure)
- Background in school-based, home health, or teletherapy OT preferred
- Previous experience working with special education populations or in a self-contained classroom highly valued
- Strong communication skills to effectively partner with staff, students, and caregivers
- Ability to assess student needs, set appropriate goals, and deliver individualized interventions
- Availability to attend an onsite interview as part of the application process
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT services to students ages 3–22, tailored to individual IEP goals
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and write clear, actionable reports
- Develop and implement intervention plans to foster students’ functional independence
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to optimize student outcomes
