Step into a pivotal role as an Occupational Therapist, making a meaningful impact on students’ lives across multiple school sites in the Elgin area. This full-time contract opportunity starts in late August and continues through early June, offering the chance to work with a diverse caseload ranging from preschool through transition-aged students. Your expertise will support students’ academic and daily living skills, collaborating with educators and families in elementary, middle, and high schools.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
  • Previous experience in school-based settings is highly preferred
  • Ability to provide services across Pre K to age 22
  • Willingness and ability to travel between multiple school sites within the district
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Must complete required fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy to students with a wide range of needs
  • Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to help students achieve their educational goals
  • Complete required documentation and progress reports efficiently
  • Adapt services to meet varying age and developmental levels, supporting transitions as students progress
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to development of accommodations and modifications
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding OT best practices within the school environment
