This full-time opportunity spans the entire school year and centers around providing occupational therapy services to four low-incidence classrooms, including life skills and autism support. You'll collaborate closely with a dedicated team to impact the lives of approximately 36 to 40 students, leveraging your expertise and creativity in school-based occupational therapy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L or COTA) in Illinois
  • Experience in school-based OT, home health, or healthcare settings is highly valued
  • Strong background in supporting fine and gross motor skill development
  • Skills in adapting therapy for students with diverse needs, particularly in autism and life skills classrooms
  • Ability to communicate effectively with educators, parents, and allied professionals
  • Familiarity with IEP goals, progress monitoring, and legal documentation requirements
  • Compassion and patience to work with various learning and physical abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individual interventions for students with physical, developmental, or sensory challenges
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to enhance fine and gross motor skills in classroom settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and families to promote student independence and participation
  • Maintain accurate therapy records and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Support professional development for staff on OT best practices
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and goal-oriented atmosphere for students
