School Occupational Therapist | Aurora, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact supporting students through occupational therapy in a dynamic, contract opportunity near Aurora, IL. This role involves serving two specialized programs within the same building: a K-12 behavioral academy and a transition program for young adults ages 18-21. Your expertise will be pivotal in empowering students to achieve greater independence and skill development as part of a supportive and collaborative educational team.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist Registration (OTR)
• Experience or interest in serving both K-12 and transition-aged students
• Background in school-based, home health, or teletherapy OT services
• Comfortable with a variety of service delivery methods, including consultative and direct therapies
• Effective communicator, adept at working both one-on-one and in small group settings
• Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide OT assessments and interventions for students in the behavioral academy and transition program
• Conduct annual reviews and three-year re-evaluations in compliance with program and regulatory guidelines
• Deliver individualized and small group OT sessions based on student needs
• Consult and work closely with educators, families, and other therapists to develop and implement effective strategies
• Document progress and maintain required records in a timely, accurate manner
• Support students in building skills necessary for classroom, community, and vocational success
