Make a meaningful impact supporting students through occupational therapy in a dynamic, contract opportunity near Aurora, IL. This role involves serving two specialized programs within the same building: a K-12 behavioral academy and a transition program for young adults ages 18-21. Your expertise will be pivotal in empowering students to achieve greater independence and skill development as part of a supportive and collaborative educational team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist Registration (OTR)
- Experience or interest in serving both K-12 and transition-aged students
- Background in school-based, home health, or teletherapy OT services
- Comfortable with a variety of service delivery methods, including consultative and direct therapies
- Effective communicator, adept at working both one-on-one and in small group settings
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide OT assessments and interventions for students in the behavioral academy and transition program
- Conduct annual reviews and three-year re-evaluations in compliance with program and regulatory guidelines
- Deliver individualized and small group OT sessions based on student needs
- Consult and work closely with educators, families, and other therapists to develop and implement effective strategies
- Document progress and maintain required records in a timely, accurate manner
- Support students in building skills necessary for classroom, community, and vocational success
