Occupational Therapist School Setting in Aurora, IL

Make a meaningful impact in education as a dedicated Occupational Therapist. This contract opportunity will have you working onsite in a dynamic school environment, serving students across elementary, middle, and high schools. You’ll step into an itinerant role, traveling between multiple sites within the district and engaging with children and youth ranging from Pre-K through transition age (up to 22 years). With varied schedules depending on the assigned schools, the workweek is full-time—35 to 37.5 hours—with each day offering new connections and challenges.

Key Qualifications:

• Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Current educator license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
• Previous school-based experience is preferred, helping you to hit the ground running
• Demonstrated commitment to serving students with diverse needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to the unique schedules and environments across multiple campuses
• Must complete fingerprinting as part of credentialing

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students from early childhood through young adulthood
• Conduct assessments, develop individual intervention plans, and document progress
• Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Travel between assigned schools to meet students’ needs in a variety of settings
• Support students’ functional and academic growth, enabling greater independence and participation in school routines
