Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Previous experience in a K-12 school setting preferred
- Knowledge of IEP process and therapy documentation requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with varied abilities
- Conduct assessments and participate in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support students’ goals both in and out of the classroom
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and state standards
- Encourage development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, adaptive functioning, and self-care
- Engage creatively with students, using evidence-based strategies and interventions
- Attend relevant team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
