Key Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Previous experience in a K-12 school setting preferred
  • Knowledge of IEP process and therapy documentation requirements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with varied abilities
  • Conduct assessments and participate in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support students’ goals both in and out of the classroom
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and state standards
  • Encourage development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, adaptive functioning, and self-care
  • Engage creatively with students, using evidence-based strategies and interventions
  • Attend relevant team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
