Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, valid Occupational Therapist license (New York State)
  • Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP process and documentation requirements
  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy goals for students
  • Skilled in adapting activities to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students with a variety of needs, both individually and in group settings
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress
  • Support classroom staff by providing strategies and modifications to facilitate student participation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate findings and recommendations
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in best practices
