Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, valid Occupational Therapist license (New York State)
- Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Familiarity with IEP process and documentation requirements
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy goals for students
- Skilled in adapting activities to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students with a variety of needs, both individually and in group settings
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress
- Support classroom staff by providing strategies and modifications to facilitate student participation
- Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate findings and recommendations
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in best practices
