Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and active Occupational Therapist license in New York State
  • Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and families
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptability in working with students across elementary and middle school grades

Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students in both elementary and middle schools; both sites are within easy walking distance
  • Manage a schedule of approximately 9 sessions per day, with time allocated for planning
  • Assess student needs, develop tailored intervention plans, and monitor progress toward goals
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences as needed
  • Provide consultative support to teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into classrooms
  • Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student engagement and growth

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, from 7:30am to 3:00pm, working 32.5 hours per week. You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in a collaborative school community.
