An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide crucial support to students in a charter school environment. This contract position centers on delivering direct OT services to a small caseload of three students who have not received assistance since March, making timely intervention essential for their academic and functional progress.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in New York State
  • Prior experience in school-based or pediatric OT settings
  • Strong understanding of educational regulations and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate with educators and staff in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Compassion, patience, and commitment to fostering student development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to three designated students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and measure progress
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and adapt strategies that support functional and academic goals
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation of services, assessments, and progress reports
  • Provide input for IEP meetings and participate in case conferences as needed
  • Act promptly and creatively to ensure continuity of care, given the lapse in previous services
