School Occupational Therapist | Belvidere, Illinois

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-12 students as a school-based occupational therapist in a contract role available immediately through May 21, 2027. Based onsite near Belvidere, IL, you’ll serve students across a wide age range, delivering meaningful interventions and collaborating within a supportive and well-resourced environment.

What’s Needed:

• Licensure as an Occupational Therapist, with eligibility in the state
• Previous experience in school-based OT is highly desirable
• Comfortable and skilled at working with K-12th grade populations
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Collaborative spirit, open to feedback and ongoing professional development
• Ability to adapt interventions for students with diverse needs

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct OT services to students as outlined in IEPs
• Conduct evaluations and develop data-driven intervention plans
• Collaborate with Special Education teams, teachers, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings, documenting progress and recommendations
• Contribute to best-practice process improvements
• Attend monthly roundtables and performance reviews for continuous growth
• Utilize region-wide intranet to connect with OTs and share strategies
• Attend regular 1:1 meetings and team check-ins with supervision/leadership
• Engage in professional development courses for school-based practice
• Make use of provided testing materials and OT-specific equipment
