An exciting opportunity awaits skilled Occupational Therapists seeking a dynamic, contract-based role supporting schools near Birmingham, AL. Step into a rewarding position working across four educational sites, where you will play a key part in helping students achieve their fullest potential.

This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and runs until June 10. You’ll work onsite with caseloads of 50-60 students, employing a blend of service delivery models—individual, small group, and in-class (“push-in”) support—tailored to each student’s IEP needs. Sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes, with frequencies ranging from weekly to monthly. Your schedule will follow school hours, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active, valid Alabama Occupational Therapy certification and licensure (documentation required)
  • Background in delivering OT services within a school setting
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
  • Confidence in collaborating with school staff, special educators, and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to in-person, onsite services (remote work not available for this position)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy to students as specified in IEPs
  • Adapt and deliver therapy through individual, small group, and push-in modalities
  • Maintain thorough session documentation and progress reports
  • Consult with teachers and team members to support student success within the classroom environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations
