Step into a rewarding role serving students during the 26/27 school year with a contract opportunity focused on providing exceptional occupational therapy support. Located near the tranquil shores of Block Island, this engaging position allows you to make a meaningful difference while working just two days per week, from September 8th to June 18th. You’ll primarily support PreK students, but will also interact with the broader K-12 population. Candidates with a strong background in school-based occupational therapy or seasoned COTAs ready to contribute their expertise are welcome to apply.

What we're seeking:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist or an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Demonstrated experience in a school-based setting, ideally with PreK and K-12 students
  • Proficiency with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
  • Familiarity and comfort working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and organization skills
  • Ability to craft individualized therapy interventions tailored to student needs

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to student goals, predominantly for PreK
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families to address each student’s unique needs
  • Address motor, sensory, and adaptive skill challenges impacting educational participation
  • Contribute to IEP development, documentation, and progress reports
  • Integrate AAC technology into therapy sessions and support student communication
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment
