An opportunity is available for a full-time Occupational Therapist experienced in school settings to support students through the end of the current academic year. This contract position is based in Bowie, MD, and involves working with multiple elementary schools, including locations with specialized Autism programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services tailored to the needs of students in elementary school environments
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students at multiple schools, including those with Autism programs, by addressing sensory, motor, and functional challenges
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based therapy
- Knowledge of intervention strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting students’ educational and developmental goals
Location:
- Position will serve elementary schools in the Bowie, MD area, including Suitland Elementary, Rosaryville Elementary, and Capital Heights Elementary. Suitland and Rosaryville feature Autism programs requiring specialized support.
