Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in New York
- School-based OT experience preferred, but strong clinical skills in pediatric or educational settings are welcome
- Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective student plans
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Capacity to adapt in a dynamic school environment and provide support across multiple buildings if needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT services to students, promoting their participation and success in academic and functional school activities
- Conduct screenings and assessments as required to determine student needs and progress
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals focused on occupational therapy
- Work closely with special education teams, sharing insights and strategies tailored to each student
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and district policies
- Communicate proactively with staff and families regarding progress and recommendations
