Occupational Therapist School Setting in Bronx, NY

Expand your career in occupational therapy through a unique opportunity supporting early intervention students in an innovative educational setting. This contract role is based near Bronx, NY, with the flexibility to start part-time and transition to a full-time schedule as the student caseload increases. You’ll be part of a dedicated team shaping Genesis Therapy’s inaugural year as an EI school, helping to build a nurturing, impactful program from the ground up.

In this role, you will:

• Provide occupational therapy services to young children in an early intervention (EI) school setting
• Start with a manageable schedule of a few hours each week, with the opportunity to increase up to a full 40-hour workweek as more families join
• Design and deliver both individual and group sessions to meet the developmental needs of each student
• Collaborate closely with 1:1 teacher assistants and a special education teacher within classrooms of 10 children
• Document student progress and maintain thorough, compliant records
• Contribute to a collegial, supportive environment during the school’s exciting first year
• Commit to a 12-month schedule, supporting program continuity for the students and families

Qualifications:

• Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of New York
• Experience or strong interest in school-based and/or pediatric occupational therapy
• Ability to work creatively within both individual and group settings
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with educational staff and families
• Flexibility and adaptability as caseloads expand over time
• Dedication to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments
