A part-time opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services to support a middle school student on a 1:1 basis. This position is located in Brooklyn, NY, and operates on a contractual basis within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized occupational therapy services to a middle school student, focusing on enhancing functional abilities and academic performance.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions tailored to the unique needs of the student.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy goals within the educational environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and compliance with school regulations.
- Address fine motor skills, sensory processing, and other relevant areas to support student participation in classroom activities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure with a focus on school-based practice.
- Experience working with middle school students in a 1:1 therapy setting.
- Knowledge of educational systems, school regulations, and individualized education program (IEP) processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
