An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services in Cambridge, MD. This role focuses on supporting students' developmental and educational needs within a school setting, providing essential therapy to help children succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to assess students’ functional abilities and needs related to occupational therapy.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's educational goals.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Document and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Facilitate functional activities that enhance students’ daily school performance and independence.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Experience working in school environments with children of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong knowledge of educational laws and guidelines related to special education and therapy services.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to diverse student needs and school schedules.
