Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license (OTR) with credentials meeting state requirements
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric occupational therapy setting preferred
  • Understanding of IEPs, progress reports, and documentation relative to student support
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to adapt therapy interventions to individual student needs and learning styles
  • Initiative and creativity for developing effective, engaging therapeutic activities

Role responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students’ needs for occupational therapy services
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapeutic practices into classroom routines
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress toward therapy goals and update records as required
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input and advocating for appropriate student services
  • Offer guidance and resources for teachers to support students’ functional skills within the school setting
