Occupational Therapist School Setting in Canton, MI

Make a difference in the lives of students as a part-time Occupational Therapist serving school-aged learners from Pre-K through 12th grade. This contract position focuses on providing essential occupational therapy services within a welcoming school environment near Canton, MI. Key Qualifications:

• Valid or pending Michigan Occupational Therapy license required
• Experience in school-based settings highly desired, particularly with IEP development, student evaluations, and direct therapy
• Background in home health or healthcare occupational therapy is a plus
• Comfortable working across all grade levels (PK-12)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver occupational therapy interventions to address students’ unique needs in educational and functional skill areas
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Document all interventions, progress notes, and reports in accordance with district and legal requirements
• Communicate regularly with families and educators to monitor and adapt therapy strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings and support the creation of strategies for classroom inclusion and accessibility
