Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility for one)
  • Previous experience working in schools or pediatric settings strongly preferred
  • Skilled in supporting students’ daily living, fine motor, and sensory development
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational abilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess students to determine individualized therapy needs
  • Develop, implement, and update intervention plans tailored to student goals
  • Integrate occupational therapy strategies into classroom routines and promote functional participation
  • Work with teachers and special education teams to adapt environments, tools, or techniques for student success
  • Maintain accurate records, complete IEP documentation, and monitor students’ progress
  • Engage in regular communication with families and staff regarding therapy outcomes
  • Participate in school-based meetings, provide staff training, and advocate for student needs

This role allows you to contribute directly to students’ academic, social, and physical independence while being surrounded by a supportive and collaborative team. The caseload will be confirmed shortly, designed to best match your expertise and the school’s needs. The assignment will run from August 2026 through May 2027, providing steady, rewarding work for two dedicated Occupational Therapists.
