School Occupational Therapist | Carrollton, Virginia

Step into a highly collaborative contract opportunity supporting students across seven schools in the Northern Borough area. Deliver impactful occupational therapy services to learners ranging from elementary through high school, and foster positive change in a dynamic educational environment. As the dedicated occupational therapist for this region, you’ll lead efforts to promote student independence, participation, and well-being alongside school teams and families.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and current occupational therapy license in the state
• Previous school-based OT experience or pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work confidently across various age groups and diverse learning needs
• Experience supervising COTAs is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct OT services to students at one high school, two middle schools, and four elementary schools
• Assess, plan, and implement individual and group interventions that address fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and daily participation
• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals
• Collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support academic and developmental progress
• Supervise and provide guidance to two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) assigned within your caseload
• Maintain effective documentation, progress reports, and data tracking for compliance
• Travel between assigned schools within the Northern Borough community
