In this high-needs environment, you'll apply your expertise in school-based occupational therapy and healthcare to support students facing a wide range of disabilities. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to deliver personalized interventions, promoting each child’s independence and participation in daily school activities.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure for New Jersey
- Prior experience in school settings required; experience in home health or other healthcare OT settings is valuable
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt interventions for students with varying disabilities and developmental stages
- Strong communication, documentation, and time management abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing occupational therapy evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Deliver direct therapy services, both one-on-one and in small group settings
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to optimize outcomes
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with applicable guidelines
- Utilize creativity and evidence-based approaches in intervention
