Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist and make a difference in students’ lives throughout the 2026-2027 school year. Based in the Murphysboro, IL area, this position offers a chance to support students in a positive and collaborative educational setting. The term runs from August 2026 through May 2027, providing a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours each week.

As an Occupational Therapist in a school environment, you’ll work collaboratively with educators, families, and other specialists to assess and address the unique needs of students. While specific caseload details will be finalized soon, you’ll have the opportunity to help students build the confidence and skills necessary for academic and personal success.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric OT setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to accommodate diverse student abilities
  • Enthusiasm for fostering growth and independence in children and adolescents

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students
  • Implement therapy services to help students achieve their educational goals
  • Consult with teachers and parents regarding student progress and strategies
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to support student success
