Step into a rewarding contract opportunity to provide Occupational Therapy services in a supportive home environment near Catskill, NY. This position centers on delivering individualized care to students with significant needs, fostering their growth and independence through personalized interventions.
Your expertise will benefit two students, both classified with multiple disabilities and requiring a thoughtful, patient approach. One student, experiencing developmental delays and Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), needs Occupational Therapy three times each week for 30-minute individual sessions. The second student, diagnosed with global developmental delays and cerebral palsy secondary to seizure and infantile spasms, is nonverbal, non-ambulatory, and requires substantial support; care includes one 45-minute individual session per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in New York State
- Previous experience in school or pediatric occupational therapy, especially in home-based or individualized settings
- Familiarity working with students with multiple disabilities, developmental delays, and complex medical diagnoses
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions for nonverbal and non-ambulatory children
- Strong record-keeping, communication, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, evidence-based OT services according to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Assess, plan, and document student progress to ensure goals are achieved
- Collaborate with families, educational staff, and other service providers to maximize student success
- Adjust therapy methods based on students’ ongoing needs and unique challenges
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of sessions and progress
