This contract opportunity is located in the Central Islip, NY area and centers on delivering direct services to a small caseload—three students who have not received occupational therapy since March. Your expertise will be vital to helping these students regain momentum and achieve their goals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Demonstrated experience working within a school environment, especially with K-12 students
- Strong understanding of delivering services in compliance with IEPs and school standards
- Ability to adapt plans to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop tailored occupational therapy plans for each assigned student
- Deliver direct OT services onsite, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain documentation and records as required by school and district guidelines
- Advocate for the students’ therapeutic needs and help reintegrate services into their educational routines
