Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ growth and independence by providing vital occupational therapy services in a school setting. This contract opportunity runs for the upcoming school year, from early September to mid-June, with a flexible schedule of two days per week. You’ll primarily serve a PreK population, with occasional sessions with K-12 students. Candidates with a solid background in special education, particularly working with children who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, will thrive in this environment. Experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) may also be considered.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist or seasoned COTA
  • Background in school-based therapy, especially early childhood/PreK
  • Experience working with children with ASD and those who use AAC devices highly desired
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to determine appropriate occupational therapy interventions
  • Provide direct services and consultative support, with an emphasis on PreK learners
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, family, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student participation
  • Document progress and maintain required records in line with district policies
